GdP-App
Duty tools by the German Police Union (GdP)
About the GdP app
The GdP app is the official app of the Gewerkschaft der Polizei (German Police Union), developed by neusta mobile solutions. It positions itself as a toolbox for daily duty: a shift calendar with exportable shift sequences and the digitized "Streifenhelfer" with the common offense numbers of the nationwide fine catalog form the core, complemented by offense-catalog search, hazardous-goods information, license plates with a map view, driving-license classes, union news, and the radio dictionary NauticDict. In 2024 the app was completely reworked and received a German Design Award.
For the target group of this category, the verdict is nevertheless clear: the GdP app is a companion for officers on active duty, not a learning app. There is no study content for police training or degree programs, no practice questions, and no exam simulation. Its store ratings, at 2.5 of 5 stars on the App Store, also fall well behind the competition. If you need the offense catalog in daily work, you get a free tool here – if you are studying for exams, look elsewhere.
Rating in detail
Eight duty modules from shift calendar to offense catalog are useful in day-to-day patrol work, but study content for training or degree programs is entirely absent.
Free with no paywall – measured by its value for learners, the return nevertheless remains modest.
The 2024 relaunch modernized the design, but the store rating of 2.5 of 5 shows that many users are dissatisfied with the app's quality.
The police union and a professional agency stand behind the app with regular updates – yet a formal support channel for app issues is missing.
